Hey everyone.

My name is Conor and I'm a 30 year old dad from Yakima, Washington but living in Tokyo, Japan. I like Marvel comics, singing Disney songs, video games, and dad jokes.

My first academic love was linguistics, and I graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in Japanese. After moving to Japan, I discovered that I also really enjoy teaching. I moved from teaching English to being a full time Early Childhood teacher at an International Preschool. Now I am working towards completing my teacher certification and also teach grade 2 in Elementary.

Thanks.

Here's some of my work.

1. Case Study for Socially Struggling 5 Year Old

I am particularly proud of this case study. Done long before module 8, I still found it beneficial to try and write about an actual student of mine (instead of basing it on the example students we were given.) He was a student who I really wanted to see succeed, and I feel like progress was made as a result of this assignment.

2. Project Based Learning: My Family Slideshow

I thought this was a cute idea to spice up a standard technology based assignment that many students might get at the beginning of the year. It incorporates using mobile device cameras for fun, which is something a lot of students, even young children, like to do anyways.

3. Behavior Blog

This is a pretty standard blog, but it's on a very important topic. I learned the importance of proper behavior management even before starting my certification program from several years of preschool classes. Having a proper set of behavior procedures can turn a potentially problematic class into a manageable situation.

4. Game Project

Game design theory is another passion of mine, so I was very thrilled to find out that we got to design a game for an assignment. It was a group project where I worked alongside my coworkers Adam and Nichole. I'm extremely proud of this and would actually like to actually make it some day.
